Nearly every tourist, who visits London takes a walk
on Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Circus or Bond Street
while having a look around Soho, which is a typical
tourists shoppingmile. It's the typical location to buy some souvenirs (or how You would call it ;-)) Many sights are reachable for pedestrians from there. So if there isn't much time (a short trip for half a day only :-() it's an ability to get a little impression from the centre of London. In the evening (and night) Soho is the right location for amusement ( if i was a rich man ... © ;-)). But parks and gardens are (like everywhere in London) available too (and of course Hyde Park isn't far). I found this nice place (second picture) in Soho Square Gardens: in the centre a memorial of Charles II (the initiator of the Towers Raven-Tale ;-)). |

Nahezu jeder Tourist, der London besucht, geht auch in
Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Circus oder Bond Street
spazieren, um sich Soho anzusehen, eine typische
Touristeneinkaufsmeile. Dort werden gewöhnlich Souvenirs gekauft (oder wie man es nennen will ;-) ). Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß zu erreichen. Deshalb - wenn Du nicht viel Zeit hast (zum Beispiel nur einen halben Tag :-(), ist das eine Möglichkeit, um einen Eindruck vom Zentrum Londons zu kriegen. Abends und nachts ist Soho das Amüsierviertel (wenn ich einmal reich wär ... © ;-). Aber Parks und Gärten gibt es dort (wie überall in London) auch (und natürlich ist der Hyde Park nicht weit weg). Ich fand diesen schönen Platz (zweites Bild) in Soho Square Gardens: im Zentrum ein Denkmal von Charles II (dem Initiator der Rabensage des Towers ;-)). |
