In memory to all street-musicians i met (and there were really a lot) i'd like to introduce to You Tim Kelly at tube-station South Kensington (near the "Exhibition Road").
At that time playing music in tube-stations wasn't allowed so if policemen noticed that they were chased away - but of course they ignored this ;-) . How i was told this has changed nowadays (in 2001). And because of the long unbroken tradition (unlike in Germany) it doesn't look like a begars behaviour - many of them play their legacy - like Tim the Irish. Watch his face ;-)

In Erinnerung an alle Straßenmusiker, die ich traf (und es waren wirklich viele), möchte ich Dir Tim Kelly in der U-Bahnstation Süd Kensington (nahe der "Ausstellungsstraße") vorstellen.
Zur damaligen Zeit war das Spielen in U-Bahnstationen nicht erlaubt und wenn Polizei sie bemerkte, dann wurden sie vertrieben - aber das haben sie natürlich ignoriert ;-) . Wie man mir sagte, ist das heute (2001) anders. Und wegen der langen, ungebrochenen Entwicklung (anders als in Deutschland) sieht das auch nicht wie das Verhalten eines Bettlers aus - viele von ihnen spielen ihre Tradition - wie Tim, der Ire.
